Amaravati, February 16, 2026: Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and chairperson of the Gates Foundation, met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and senior officials at the Real-Time Governance System (RTGS) Centre in Guntur district.
He praised the state's use of AI, Data Lake architecture, and WhatsApp Governance to deliver over 900 citizen services swiftly and transparently.
Gates called Amaravati's "blue and green" masterplan reserving 30% for waterbodies and greenery "great work" and commended the Sanjeevani digital health records project for low-cost diagnostics that benefit the poor.
He noted Andhra Pradesh's forward strides in AI for agriculture, including drone-based applications and pest identification, outpacing many developed nations. The discussion covered specialized hubs: Visakhapatnam as Data-AI City, Kakinada as Green Hydrogen Valley, and others focused on drones, electronics, and space.
