Amaravati, February 15: Maha Shivaratri brought steady streams of devotees to Shiva temples in southern Andhra Pradesh's Rayalaseema region. From early morning on Sunday through late night, people offered prayers, performed abhishekams, and observed jagarana at key sites.

In Chittoor district, highlights included the historic Moghileswara Swamy temple near Bangarupalem, temples near Kaigal Falls, the hill shrine at Mallappakonda, and the ancient Bugga Ramalingeswara Swamy temple in Nagari.

Devotees joined in Rudrabhishekam and Maha Abhishekam rituals. Annamayya district saw good participation at temples in Rayachoti and Madanapalle areas, such as Mallaiahkonda and Veerabhadra Swamy temples, featuring Vedic chants and community meals.

In Sri Sathya Sai district, crowds gathered at Doddeswara Swamy, Siddeswara Swamy in Hemavathi, and Veerabhadra Swamy temples.
