Amaravati, February 15, 2026: Maha Shivaratri brought an unprecedented rush to Lord Shiva temples across Andhra Pradesh today.

Pilgrims gathered from early hours for special pujas, abhishekams, and holy baths, turning sites into vibrant centres of devotion.

In northern districts like Vizianagaram and Srikakulam, temples such as Srimukhalingam, known as Dakshina Kasi, and Pasupathinaadeswara Swamy saw heavy footfall. Authorities arranged security and hassle-free access.

Statewide, major shrines including Srisailam Mallikarjuna Swamy and Kotappakonda received extra buses and crowd management, with women travelling free on select services to key spots.
