Amaravati, February 15, 2026: A vendor from Kurnool district faced public humiliation at Telangana's Medaram Jatara when YouTubers forced him to eat his own kova bun a popular milk-based sweet to prove it was safe and not part of any malicious intent.

The viral video drew sharp criticism for promoting suspicion and targeting small traders for views.

HRD and IT Minister Nara Lokesh, responding swiftly, expressed deep regret over the incident. He stressed that such divisive behaviour has no place in Telugu society, which prizes harmony, respect, and brotherhood.

Lokesh addressed the vendor as "Brother Vali," apologised for his ordeal, and announced plans to meet him soon to try the renowned khoya bun, signalling solidarity with hardworking vendors across the region.
