Amaravati, February 14, 2026: YSRCP Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana accused the Andhra Pradesh government of distorting facts on pending fee reimbursement dues to private educational institutions.

Botcha targeted HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, rejecting claims that the previous YSRCP administration left thousands of crores unpaid.

He stated payments flowed regularly, with only about Rs 700 crore delayed in the final quarter due to the model code of conduct during elections even then, funds faced holds after Election Commission complaints.

He argued these "baseless" assertions harm the education sector while the government favors private players over public institutions. The opposition also highlighted broader concerns like declining law and order.
