Amaravati, February 14, 2026: The state government has increased the health sector outlay to ₹19,306 crore for 2026-27, a 9.5% rise adding ₹1,669 crore over the previous revised estimate.

Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav highlighted that this forms 5.81% of the total budget and ranks fourth among departments, behind education, BC welfare, and rural development.

Major funding goes to medical education (₹9,380 crore), health and family welfare (₹5,352 crore), and public health (₹2,582 crore).

Key initiatives include ₹4,000 crore for Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, ₹600 crore for medicine procurement, and support for ambulance services and the revived NTR Baby Kit scheme. Central aid under Ayushman Bharat has also surged significantly for critical care and village-level facilities.
