Amaravati, February 14, 2026: Andhra Pradesh unveiled a ₹3.32 lakh crore budget for 2026-27, prioritising school education, welfare schemes, and fiscal discipline amid ongoing recovery efforts.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the plan in the Assembly, allocating over ₹32,300 crore to school education the highest sectoral share to boost human capital.
Welfare receives strong support, with Backward Classes at nearly ₹23,650 crore, Social Welfare around ₹11,120 crore, and EWS Welfare about ₹10,700 crore. Key farmer initiatives include ₹6,600 crore for Annadata Sukhibhava.
Infrastructure highlights feature ₹6,105 crore for the Polavaram Project and ₹4,000 crore each for health enhancements via Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva and the Jal Jeevan Mission for water security.
The budget targets a fiscal deficit of 3.84% of GSDP through debt restructuring and an AP Wealth Fund seed of ₹100 crore to attract private investment.
