Amaravati, February 14, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has instructed police to issue formal notices and seek explanations from YSRCP-associated individuals in two separate cases from Guntur district, rather than allowing immediate coercive steps.
In one matter, the court ordered the Nagarampalem police to notify Ambati Murali, the brother of prominent YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu, regarding allegations of threatening a labour leader to withdraw a writ petition tied to a worker-management dispute at the Bajrang Jute Mill lands. The case, registered in 2025, prompted notices to both the accused and the complainant.
In the second case, Nallapadu police must notify YSRCP leaders Balasani Kiran Kumar and Pothina Venkata Mahesh regarding claims they organised an unpermitted rally during a visit by former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, obstructing public movement.
Justice Venkata Jyothirmai Pratapa disposed of quash petitions in both instances, noting the offences carry maximum imprisonment under seven years and require adherence to statutory safeguards under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
