Amaravati, February 13, 2026: Opposition YSRCP members clashed with the ruling TDP in the Legislative Council on Thursday, zeroing in on land allotments in Visakhapatnam.
Leaders including Botcha Satyanarayana, Madhava Rao, Varudu Kalyani and Dr Pandula Ravindra Babu asked for records of parcels handed over at 99 paise over the past 20 months.
Minister Nara Lokesh defended the decisions, naming Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, ANSR Global, Raheja and Motherson International as recipients.
He said the moves would generate 65,000 jobs and help build Vizag’s IT ecosystem, much like Hyderabad’s rise in the 1990s. Lokesh challenged the opposition to produce evidence of wrongdoing, stating the government works only with credible firms to boost youth employment.
