Amaravati, February 13, 2026: Officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s Rajahmundry range arrested Sub-Inspector B. Venkatesh and station writer Chodi Verra Babu late on Thursday night.

The pair allegedly demanded the bribe in a harassment case and held the complainant’s phone when he could not pay immediately.

The station writer was trapped while collecting the cash on the SI’s orders. ACB teams are now searching the Gangavaram police station in Polavaram district and the officers’ residences. Both will appear before the Rajahmundry ACB Special Court today.
