Amaravati, February 12, 2026: Experts and organisations are urging mango farmers in Andhra Pradesh to cut back on chemical fertilisers and pesticides.

A recent training program in Tirupati highlighted how overuse harms fruit quality and lowers market prices for growers, especially those raising the popular Totapuri variety in Chittoor district.

Under the 'Mango Unnati' initiative by Rashtriya Seva Samithi (RASS) and the Coca-Cola Foundation, farmers learned scientific methods, including bio-fertilisers and bio-pesticides, to boost produce quality and reduce chemical dependence. Nutrient kits were shared with 100 participants from mandals like Rompicherla and Puttur for hands-on trials.
