Vijayawada, February 12, 2026: An NCC cadet from Andhra Loyola College in Vijayawada has brought pride to Andhra Pradesh by winning the Best Rider Girls title at the Republic Day 2026 camp in New Delhi.
Durigampudi Vijaya Lakshmi, from the NCC 3(A) R&V Wing, scored the highest overall points among female cadets nationwide. She claimed gold in show jumping, silver in fault and out, and bronze in dressage during the national equestrian events.
She received recognition from Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and senior NCC officials from the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Directorate. The college principal, commanding officer, and community celebrated her feat, noting her strong academics and ambition to join the defence forces via the Combined Defence Services exam.
