Amaravati, February 12, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council witnessed intense debate on February 12 as opposition members questioned the government's allocation of prime land in Visakhapatnam to companies at a nominal ₹0.99 per acre.

YSRCP leaders alleged a lack of transparency and favouritism in deals involving firms like TCS, Cognizant, Raheja, and others, claiming valuable public assets were handed over without proper safeguards.

IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh strongly defended the policy under the LIFT initiative. He said land went only to credible companies after rigorous scrutiny by committees, the Standing Investment Promotion Board, and Cabinet approval.
