Vijayawada, February 12, 2026: Ruling NDA coalition legislators told the Andhra Pradesh Assembly that the state endured heavy losses from the 2014 bifurcation of the unified Andhra Pradesh and the subsequent policies of the YSR Congress Party between 2019 and 2024.

They described the bifurcation as unscientific and the prior government's actions as destructive, pointing to halted projects, regional imbalances, especially in Rayalaseema, and the abrupt withdrawal of support for Amaravati as the sole capital, which led to significant financial and employment setbacks.

Speakers from TDP, JSP, and BJP praised the current administration's progress since June 2024, including revived investments, lower power tariffs, accelerated work on Amaravati (now involving around ₹52,000 crore and 25,000 workers) and Polavaram, plus added irrigation funding.
