Amaravati, February 11, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y.S. Sharmila sharply criticised the Governor's Budget address to the Assembly, calling it hollow and directionless.

In a post on X, Sharmila described the speech as a repackaged version of the ruling coalition's election promises with no clear roadmap for development. She accused the government of glossing over 19 months of administrative shortfalls and lacking vision, prudence, and balance.

Sharmila questioned inflated claims on poverty reduction through P4 initiatives, ₹13 lakh crore in proposed investments, and 20 lakh new jobs. She also highlighted concerns over changes to the Aarogyasri health scheme affecting millions of families and cuts to the Polavaram project height, alongside delays in other irrigation works.
