Amaravati, February 11, 2026: Sri Sathya Sai district police arrested nine people in Penukonda for their alleged role in 36 property offences, recovering gold jewellery worth ₹60 lakh (about 40 tolas) and two motorcycles.

The operation targeted repeat offender Noor Mujamil, linked to 11 prior cases in Gorantla limits, from whom 13 tolas of gold and the bikes were seized.

Eight members of the Arun Kumar gang, based in Pavagada, Karnataka’s Tumakuru district, faced arrest for 25 incidents of chain snatching and night burglaries across markets and rural areas in Madakasira, Penukonda, and nearby stations.
