Amaravati, February 11, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held high-level talks in New Delhi on February 10 with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil and others, seeking urgent central intervention for Andhra Pradesh's water and growth priorities.

He pressed for lifting the stop-work directive on Polavaram, reimbursement of added costs from canal upgrades, and full funding for Phase II estimated at ₹32,000 crore including land acquisition, rehabilitation, and protective structures.

Naidu also proposed including the Polavaram–Nallamala Sagar link in the national river interlinking scheme to channel surplus Godavari waters to dry zones for irrigation, drinking, and industry.

He raised alarms over Karnataka's Almatti dam height increase, which threatens downstream flows to the state, and called for safeguards in inter-state disputes.
