Amaravati, February 11, 2026: CPI(M) Andhra Pradesh State Committee criticised Governor S. Abdul Nazeer's address to the joint session of the Legislature on the opening day of the Budget Session.

State secretary V. Srinivasa Rao described it as reflecting a bleak vision, failing to mention pending central funds, statutory dues, the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant a key symbol of pride or relief for Polavaram oustees.

The party highlighted unaddressed burdens like extra power charges exceeding ₹15,000 crore, rising unemployment, and unfulfilled commitments on farmer support, women's aid, and employee benefits. Rao stressed that grand declarations without action cannot drive real development.
