Amaravati, February 11, 2026: A member of the Andhra Pradesh State Food Commission conducted a surprise inspection of Anganwadi centres in Prakasam district, directing show-cause notices against staff for lapses in child nutrition delivery.

Lakshmi Reddy Endela visited centres in Medarametla and Bodduvanipalem villages of Korisapadu mandal. At the B.C. Colony centre in Medarametla, children had not received milk daily or eggs every two days since February 1, with supplies failing to arrive; staff responses fell short on explanations and menu adherence.

In Bodduvanipalem, surplus eggs from January stock raised concerns over proper distribution under supplementary nutrition programs.

Endela instructed the Child Development Project Officer to issue show-cause notices to the supervisor and teacher in Medarametla for negligence, and to relevant staff in Bodduvanipalem over the excess inventory. She also checked a local ration shop, ordering removal of non-compliant items.
