Amaravati, February 11, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Assembly's budget session commenced in Vijayawada with Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer delivering the policy address to members of both houses.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the Governor upon arrival. The Governor outlined the coalition government's efforts to restore growth momentum after criticising the previous 2019-2024 administration for stalling progress, financial stress, and setbacks in infrastructure, power, and irrigation sectors.

YSRCP members, who attended after a period of boycotts demanding Opposition status, staged a walkout during the address. The Business Advisory Committee later finalised the schedule, with daily sittings planned until early March and the Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav set to present the 2026-27 state budget on February 14.
