Amaravati, February 10, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held talks with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil in New Delhi, seeking urgent central action on key Andhra Pradesh water initiatives.
He pressed for permanent removal of stop-work orders on the Polavaram project, reimbursement for enhanced canal capacities, and full support for Phase-II works including land acquisition, rehabilitation, and embankments, estimated at ₹32,000 crore.
Naidu also proposed the Polavaram Nallamala Sagar link to redirect surplus Godavari floodwaters to drought-prone areas for irrigation, industry, and drinking needs, requesting approval under the national river-linking framework.
