Amaravati, February 10, 2026: A Hyderabad software engineer faced arrest in Visakhapatnam for masterminding 26 nighttime house burglaries across areas like Gajuwaka, Arilova, Malkapuram, Pendurthi, and Duvvada.

The accused, identified as Acchi Mahesh Reddy alias Sunny, a 27-year-old originally from Kakinada, allegedly targeted locked homes to fund a lavish lifestyle his salary could not support including luxury travel and a high-end car.

Vizag police cracked the cases through technical leads and CCTV footage, leading to his capture near Arch Road in Gajuwaka on February 7.

Officers seized 699 grams of gold ornaments, 3.8 kg of silver, a BMW purchased with crime proceeds, house-breaking tools, and an unregistered scooter.

The recovered items exceed Rs 15 lakh in value, part of a larger haul across cases worth around Rs 25 lakh, including over 1 kg gold and cash.
