Amaravati, February 10, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh High Court issued notices to the state government in a petition filed by V Srinivasa Rao, president of the Andhra Pradesh Village and Ward Secretariat SC and ST Employees Welfare Association.

The plea highlights the lack of increments and structured promotions for staff who have completed five years in village and ward secretariats, arguing it harms morale and blocks career growth. It also presses for action on earlier unanswered representations to the government.

Justice Donadi Ramesh heard the matter and ordered the state to file detailed counter affidavits. The case stands adjourned by four weeks for further consideration.
