Visakhapatnam, February 09, 2026: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar addressed a press conference here, praising the Union Budget 2026-27 for its focus on accelerating growth and employment in Andhra Pradesh.
He highlighted increased railway allocations by 10%, plans for high-speed rail corridors including one likely for the state, and enhanced national highway spending to improve connectivity and logistics.
Pemmasani noted Rs 10,000 crore earmarked for MSMEs to aid expansion and cut costs, plus tax incentives for data centres expected to attract investments and generate jobs.
Support continues for key Andhra sectors like fisheries, animal husbandry, coconut, and cashew through high-value agriculture promotion and rural development funds. Unemployment has dropped about 3% nationally due to job-focused policies, he added.
