Vizag, February 09, 2026: Gajuwaka Crime Police in Visakhapatnam arrested Achhi Mahesh Reddy, 27, alias Sunny, a former software engineer from Kakinada, for his role in 26 nighttime housebreak cases.
The incidents spanned areas under Gajuwaka, Arilova, Malkapuram, Pendurthi, and Duvvada stations, with thefts of gold, silver ornaments, and cash totalling over Rs 24 lakh.
Officers recovered stolen items worth Rs 15.63 lakh, including approximately 699 grams of gold and 3.8 kg of silver, as well as a BMW car purchased with theproceeds, a scooter, and burglary tools.
Investigations began after complaints in late 2025, leading to months of targeted work by special teams. Commissioner Shankabrata Bagchi highlighted the arrest's impact on curbing serial break-ins.
