Amaravati, February 09, 2026: Police in Chittoor district arrested a notorious repeat offender in ganja trafficking on Monday. The 55-year-old man, Mohan Babu from Bandapalle village, had evaded capture for years while sourcing cannabis from northern Andhra Pradesh and Odisha for distribution in southern regions.
A special team from Puthalapattu circle police, acting on credible intelligence, caught him at Vaddipalle Cross on the Puthalapattu-Piler road.
He faces multiple cases across Chittoor, East Godavari, and Alluri Sitharama Raju districts for illegal ganja transport and sale, plus related charges under the Gaming Act. Authorities plan to book him under the PD Act as well.
