Vizag, February 09, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh Air Travelers Association (APATA) has raised concerns over road access and connectivity to the upcoming Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram.

Located 45-50 km from Visakhapatnam along NH-16, the route currently features heavy congestion, 13-22 traffic signals, and limited public options.

Travel times stretch to 75-120 minutes or longer during peaks plus two hours for pre-departure checks, potentially totalling four hours door-to-airport.

APATA president K Kumar Raja and other leaders noted that taxi costs often reach Rs 2,500-4,000 one way, making round trips expensive for many passengers, including seniors and medical travellers.
