Amaravati, February 09, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SRM University-AP to set up a Quantum Reference Facility on the university's campus.
This marks SRM-AP as the inaugural academic partner in the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative, launched with foundation stone laying on February 7-8, 2026.
The facility will act as a shared platform for national and global use. Startups, researchers, and industry players can test quantum components, benchmark performance, validate systems, and reduce risks before wider rollout. It supports faster commercialisation of quantum technologies.
SRM-AP plans a dedicated Quantum Institute for interdisciplinary research, teaching, and training across physics, computer science, electronics, mathematics, and engineering.
