Vizag, February 09, 2026: Anti-Corruption Bureau teams in Visakhapatnam opened an ICICI Bank locker belonging to Kallepalli Srinivasa Rao, a retired Superintending Engineer from the Panchayat Raj department, on February 8.

They seized 28 gold items valued at roughly Rs 60 lakh as part of a disproportionate assets investigation.

The case stems from a tip-off about assets far exceeding known income sources. Raids began February 5 across five sites in Visakhapatnam, Salur, and Hyderabad, recovering Rs 61.87 lakh cash, about 2.5 kg gold, 20.3 kg silver, 18.57 acres land, two flats, three plots, vehicles, and more totaling over Rs 30 crore in market value.

Rao, who joined service in 1990 and retired December 31, 2025, was arrested and remanded to 14-day judicial custody.
