Amaravati, February 08, 2026: Former Deputy Chief Minister Peedika Rajanna Dora voiced strong confidence that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will secure a decisive victory in the forthcoming local body elections across Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking during a review meeting with party leaders in the Salur Assembly constituency of Parvatipuram-Manyam district, he highlighted the party's deep organisational reach, including newly formed village-level committees and dedicated groups for scheduled castes, tribes, backward classes, women, and other communities to tackle local concerns effectively.

Dora pointed to the ruling TDP-JSP-BJP alliance's perceived failure to deliver development over the past 20 months, claiming voters now view YSRCP as the only force equipped to drive progress and welfare.

Preparations for these polls, covering gram panchayats, municipalities, and other bodies, are advancing, with electoral roll updates underway and terms of many local units expiring in phases through 2026.
