Amaravati, February 08, 2026: Andhra Pradesh authorities have launched a ₹16.7 crore renovation project for the historic Venugopala Swamy temple in Moolapet, Nellore district. Works began six months ago under the guidance of Tridandi Srimannarayana Chinna Jeeyar.
The plan covers upgrading the main temple structure, widening and improving the four surrounding mada streets for smoother processions, and building a new Lord Narasimha temple—its foundation stone already laid.
Ministers Ponguru Narayana and Anam Ramanarayana Reddy recently reviewed designs and models, directing officials to speed up execution.
