Amaravati, February 07, 2026: Opposition YSRCP has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of forming a one-man committee to re-examine alleged ghee adulteration in Tirumala laddus purely for a favourable outcome.

YSRCP MLC Botcha Satyanarayana said the move follows dissatisfaction with a Special Investigation Team (SIT) report and a CBI charge-sheet that found no animal fat in the ghee supplied for the sacred prasadam.

The controversy stems from claims of substandard ingredients, including vegetable oils and chemicals, used in laddu preparation under previous rules.

Naidu's government has highlighted lab tests showing adulteration and set up the panel to review lapses and assign responsibility. YSRCP argues this politicises a religious matter and ignores evidence clearing animal fat use.
