Amaravati, February 07, 2026: Union Minister of State for Science & Technology Jitendra Singh described the Union Budget 2026-27 as more than a yearly financial statement it is a bold, long-term roadmap aimed at building Viksit Bharat by 2047 and positioning India as a global economic leader.
Speaking to the media in Vijayawada, he praised measures like tax exemptions on 17 cancer drugs and seven rare disease medicines to ease healthcare burdens, a ₹10,000 crore push for biotechnology and bio-manufacturing, ₹20,000 crore for carbon capture to drive green industries, and drone-based urban planning tools.
