Amaravati, February 07, 2026: The Andhra Pradesh government has rolled out an off-grid solar electrification project in the Palutla region of Yerragondapalem constituency, deep inside the Nallamala forest.
At a cost of ₹2.86 crore, the initiative delivers sustainable power with battery storage to 611 tribal households across six hamlets, roughly 60 km from nearest mainstream areas.
Each home now has one fan, five LED lights, and a mobile charging point replacing unreliable temporary lighting and boosting daily life, from evening studies to better safety.
Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar inaugurated the scheme after a forest visit, with approval from Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Tribal residents welcomed the move with traditional dances and shared requests for solar irrigation motors and streetlights, which authorities promised to review.
