NITI Aayog member and former DRDO chief V.K. Saraswat hailed the Union Budget's ₹7.85 lakh crore defence outlay as a strong signal for modernising India's armed forces and preparing them for tomorrow's challenges.

Speaking at a Defence Science Conclave in Agiripally near Vijayawada, he noted the 15.19% rise over last year, with DRDO funding climbing to ₹29,100 crore to drive innovation in AI, quantum tech, drones, and nanomaterials.
