Vijayawada, February 06: NITI Aayog CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam presented the Accelerating Sustainable State Energy Transition (ASSET) blueprint to Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand in Vijayawada on February 5.

The plan positions Andhra Pradesh to become one of India's leading renewable energy centres, delivering reliable, affordable, and clean power to all consumers while enabling exports.

Renewables already make up 47% of the state's power capacity. The blueprint sets ambitious domestic targets: 35 GW solar, 12 GW wind, and 55-60 GWh storage by 2035.

For exports, it proposes 30 GW solar, 25-30 GW wind, and 10-12 GW pumped storage. Investments could reach nearly ₹3.40 lakh crore, potentially lowering power costs to ₹3.90 per unit.
