Amaravati, February 05: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has adjourned a lunch motion petition filed by senior YSRCP leader and former minister Ambati Rambabu.

He seeks to quash criminal cases linked to his reported derogatory comments against Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu during a January 31 protest in Guntur district.

Rambabu, currently in judicial remand at Rajahmundry Central Jail since February 2, argues the charges stem from political motives and carry maximum punishment under seven years.

A single-judge bench heard initial submissions today and directed the petitioner to file a detailed counter-affidavit. The matter now stands posted for further hearing on February 11.
