Amaravati, February 04, 2026:

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), set up by the Supreme Court, submitted an 11-page report to the Andhra Pradesh government exposing major flaws in how Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) procured ghee for the sacred laddu prasadam over five years.

Investigators found deliberate relaxations in tender rules such as lowering turnover requirements, shortening experience criteria, and easing quality standards without proper justification or scientific backing.

These changes allowed ineligible suppliers to provide substandard ghee, despite lab tests in 2022 confirming adulteration in samples from certain dairies.
