A Singapore government delegation toured the Machilipatnam port site in Andhra Pradesh to review construction advances and explore collaboration opportunities.

Amaravati, February 04, 2026: A delegation from Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry visited the Machilipatnam port construction site in Krishna district on Wednesday.

Led by Senior Director Francis Chong Fu Shin, the team included Deputy CEO Teh Lian Chen, Senior Manager Nisha Sharda for Sustainable Strategic Projects, and financial consultant Chua Tek Him. They assessed on-ground progress and discussed development initiatives where Singapore expertise supports Andhra Pradesh projects.

General Manager Tulasidas of Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited (MEIL), the executing agency, briefed the visitors that the port spans 2,000 acres and currently employs around 1,300 workers.

He confirmed the first phase featuring four berth, will wrap up by December 31, 2026. Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and State Planning Department officials joined the site inspection, following earlier talks with District Collector D.K. Balaji on broader regional growth.
