Amaravati, February 04, 2026: Hospitals and organisations across SPSR Nellore district organised events on World Cancer Day to promote prevention, early screening, and community action under the global theme “United by Unique,” which centres personalised care and individual stories in the fight against cancer.

The Indian Red Cross Society Cancer Hospital celebrated its silver jubilee with felicitations for long-time supporters, while District Collector Himanshu Shukla praised collective efforts that have sustained the facility since 2001.

Narayana Medical College and Hospital led an awareness rally from Gandhi statue to RTC bus stand, joined by health officials, and offered free screening packages worth ₹5,000 until March 4.

Experts stressed regular checks: women over 20 every three years, over 40 every two, and over 50 annually, using tools like mammograms and Pap smears. Separately, SEIL Energy India Limited held a session at Kodur Beach as part of its community health commitments.
