Amaravati, February 04, 2026: Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced a targeted expansion of cancer care services in Andhra Pradesh, timed with World Cancer Day observances.

The state will establish Pain and Palliative Care Units, each with 5–10 beds, in teaching hospitals at Kurnool, Guntur, Kakinada, Visakhapatnam, and Tirupati.

Staff training will occur at the Homi Bhabha Cancer Institute in Visakhapatnam, with plans to roll out similar facilities across all teaching hospitals in phases and explore broader access at district levels.
