Amaravati, February 03, 2026: NTR Commissionerate Police joined forces with the Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement (EAGLE) and Government Railway Police (GRP) to conduct surprise checks at Vijayawada railway station.

Teams inspected moving trains, platforms, ticket counters, cloak rooms, and other areas to curb ganja smuggling and protect passenger safety.

The drive formed part of the ongoing “Cycle Rally” (Drugs Pai Dandayatra), an awareness initiative against drugs. Participants included Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, EAGLE head and IGP Ake Ravi Krishna, and senior officers from the commissionerate.
