Amaravati, February 01, 2026: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Andhra Pradesh chapter called for a dedicated central financial package to fast-track infrastructure in Amaravati ahead of the Union Budget 2026-27. Vice-Chairman S. Narendra Kumar highlighted the need to position the greenfield capital as a key engine for statewide growth and a regional hub for startups and innovation.
The wishlist also includes support for industrial corridors like Visakhapatnam-Chennai and Hyderabad-Bangalore with plug-and-play facilities, approval of revised Polavaram project costs, funds for backward districts in Rayalaseema and North Andhra, incentives for a 1-GW hyperscale data centre in Visakhapatnam, promotion of Global Capability Centres in the state, green finance policies with tax credits for renewables, customs duty cuts on aquaculture feed, and measures to aid MSMEs such as better working capital and accelerated depreciation.
