Amaravati, January 31, 2026: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has reaffirmed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's September 2024 statement on adulteration in ghee used for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) laddus.

TDP leaders point to a July 2024 test report from the National Dairy Development Board's Centre for Analysis and Learning in Livestock and Food (CALF), which detected animal fat and vegetable oil in supplied ghee samples.

They describe Naidu's remarks as fact-based, not political, and note the report's citation in CBI documents amid ongoing probes into procurement corruption.

The CBI-led Special Investigation Team's recent chargesheet concludes no animal fat such as beef tallow or lard, was present in ghee supplied to TTD between 2019 and 2024. Instead, investigations reveal large-scale use of synthetic ghee made from vegetable oils like palm and palm kernel, plus chemical esters to mimic pure dairy ghee.
