Amaravati, January 31, 2026: The Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) survey, based on random IVRS calls from December to January, reveals persistent corruption in Andhra Pradesh's Transport department. Across the state, 45% of citizens reported paying bribes for services like vehicle registration, tax payments, permits, and fitness certificates. In Chittoor district Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu's home area nearly 60% of respondents faced such issues, the highest recorded. About 48% specifically noted extra payments demanded during vehicle registration.
