Amaravati, January 28, 2026: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reviewed railway projects at the Secretariat in Vijayawada and stressed the need for stronger rail networks linking major seaports like Visakhapatnam to inland regions across five neighboring states.

He aims to ease congestion at key junctions such as Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, and Renigunta while prioritising pending lines in backward areas of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra.

Naidu directed officials to fully support Railways in accelerating these efforts, including new proposals like the Vijayawada Bypass and Bhadrachalam Road Kovvur line, plus upgrades to high-speed corridors on Hyderabad–Chennai, Chennai–Bengaluru, and Hyderabad–Bengaluru routes.
