Vizag, January 28, 2026: Professor Mogalla Shashi, a veteran from the Department of Computer Science and Systems Engineering, has taken charge as Principal of Andhra University College of Engineering (AUCE). She is the first woman to hold this position since the college began nearly a century ago.

Shashi's connection to the university spans decades. She joined as an Electrical and Electronics Engineering student in 1977, earned her degrees there (B.E. 1982, M.E. 1985, PhD 1994), and rose through the ranks from assistant professor in 1985 to full professor since 1999.

Her achievements include the Best PhD Thesis award from AU in 1995, AICTE's Young Teacher Award in 1996, and the Andhra Pradesh government's Best Teacher Award in Engineering in 2016.
