Amaravati, January 28, 2026: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to aim for 500 lakh metric tonnes of horticultural produce, focusing on Rayalaseema, Prakasam, and Markapur districts.
The plan targets expansion from 8.41 lakh hectares to 14.41 lakh hectares of cultivation area in three years across 10 districts, backed by 201 clusters in 303 mandals.
Over 20 irrigation projects will bring new water to 8.87 lakh acres and stabilise supply for 4.30 lakh acres more, with priority on completing Veligonda this year, reviving Annamayya, and advancing Galeru-Nagari.
Dubai-based DP World shows interest in setting up a cluster, while Purvodaya funds and private investments will build roads, cold chains, processing units, and market links to match global demand.
