Amaravati, January 28, 2026: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana is set to embark on a short international tour to the United Kingdom and Qatar early next month.

The visit aims to gather insights into best practices for cutting-edge urban development, world-class sports facilities, and integrated infrastructure standards. These learnings will directly inform the ongoing planning and execution of the ambitious Sports City within Amaravati's capital region.

The initiative aligns with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's vision to position Amaravati as a hub for international-level sports, potentially hosting major events and boosting tourism, employment, and sustainable growth.

Recent directives have emphasized studying models like Qatar's established sports precincts, while construction on the roughly 2,500-acre project is slated to begin within the coming year as part of broader Land Pooling Scheme expansions.
