Vizianagaram, January 27, 2026: More than 2,000 bank employees marched from Fort junction to the State Bank of India main branch today, demanding immediate rollout of a five-day workweek.

Members of the United Forum of Bank Unions, including local groups from SBI Officers’ Association and AP Gramin Bank Staff Association, raised slogans against management delays despite earlier settlements.

The rally forms part of a broader nationwide strike that disrupted public sector banking services across India, following failed talks with authorities.
